Platforms: how to set up and start trading

Noctorial works exclusively on MetaTrader 5 (MT5). It is one of the most widely used trading platforms in the world, stable, fast, and compatible with the full range of instruments and automated strategies available on your account.

What is MetaTrader 5

MT5 is a professional trading platform developed by MetaQuotes. It offers you access to advanced charting, multiple order types, an integrated economic calendar, and full support for Expert Advisors and automated strategies. It is available on desktop, web browser, and mobile devices.

If you have never used MT5, setup takes less than 10 minutes.

How to configure your account

Step 1. Download MT5.
Go to the official MetaQuotes website or search for MetaTrader 5 in the app store of your device. Download and install the platform. It is free.

Step 2. Receive your credentials.
Once your Noctorial account is ready, you will receive an email with your MT5 access details. This includes your account number, password, and the server name you need to connect to.

Step 3. Log in.
Open MT5 and select File → Log in to Trade Account. Enter your account number, password, and select the Noctorial server from the list. If the server does not appear automatically, type the server name from your welcome email into the search field.

Step 4. Verify your connection.
Once logged in, your account balance and trading history will appear in the platform. You are ready to trade.

💡 MT5 allows you to have multiple accounts open simultaneously. If you have more than one Noctorial account, you can switch between them without logging out—just right-click on your account in the Navigator panel and select Login.

Your Noctorial dashboard

Along with MT5, you have access to your Noctorial Private Area, a dedicated dashboard where you can monitor your account status in real time.

Your dashboard displays:
- Your current balance and equity
- Your daily loss limit and how much you have used
- Your max drawdown floor and your distance from it
- Your trading days count and withdrawal eligibility status

Check your dashboard before every trading session. Knowing your limits before opening a position is one of the simplest habits that separates disciplined traders from reactive ones.

💡 Your dashboard updates every 15 minutes. Drawdown and daily loss calculations are applied in real time on MT5, not when the dashboard updates. Always monitor your live equity directly on the platform when you have open positions, not on the dashboard.

Mobile trading

MT5 is available on iOS and Android. You can monitor positions, place and modify orders, and view charts directly from your phone. Full EA functionality requires the desktop version.
